A Dual-Zone Indoor Adventure Playground Upgrade
Designed for Long-Term Operation

Overview

Originally focused on extreme sports, Chongqing Jihua Park has completed a full indoor playground upgrade with the support of Funlandia.

Nearly 3,000 square meters of indoor space were completely replanned. The new venue now balances higher capacity, better operational efficiency, and experiences for multiple age groups.

This upgrade is not only about making the playground more exciting. It is a redesign focused on long‑term operation and sustainability.

Project Background

From Excitement to Operation

The original indoor playground at Chongqing Jihua Park was built by an overseas equipment supplier. It mainly featured high‑intensity extreme sports attractions. While exciting, long‑term operation revealed several challenges, including a limited attraction mix, high maintenance costs, and restricted space capacity.

As family visitors became the main customer group, the client needed more than excitement. The goal was to create an indoor playground that is suitable for all ages, supports higher capacity, reduces operating costs, and remains attractive over time.

Project Overview

Dual‑Zone Planning for Broader Demand

Funlandia restructured the nearly 3,000 sqm space into two main zones: Adventure World and Kids Galaxy.

The value of this dual‑zone layout is not only clear zoning. It allows one space to serve different visitor groups at the same time. Adventure World focuses on high‑energy and high‑capacity play, while Kids Galaxy is designed for younger children and families.

With more attraction types and clearer play logic, the overall capacity and operational efficiency of the venue were significantly improved.

Design Concept

More Efficient Space, Continuous Experience

The project follows a space exploration theme, but the design focus goes beyond visual style.

Through multi‑level structures and clear circulation paths, visitors move continuously through the space instead of stopping at single attractions. This creates a smoother play experience, increases immersion, and helps extend average stay time.

Adventure World: Vertical Design for Higher Capacity

Adventure World is the core activity zone of the project. By using multi‑level structures and combined play systems, the indoor space supports a wide range of activities within a limited footprint.

High Ropes Courses

The high ropes area offers adventure at different heights. Rope courses and walkways are placed above, while trampolines and interactive elements are located below. This layered design increases play density and keeps movement flowing.

Slides Carnival features a diverse collection of high‑speed giant slides, each designed with unique shapes, curves, and thrilling drop angles. The variety of slide designs caters to different levels of excitement, encouraging guests to engage in active, energetic play.

Interactive Sports Zone

Funlandia’s signature product Super Runio is combined with trampoline systems. It blends physical activity, competition, and game mechanics. The clear rules and self‑guided play help reduce supervision needs while maintaining strong engagement.

Kids Galaxy | Expanding Age Coverage Through Safe Design

Kids Galaxy is designed for young children and family visitors. Ball pools, rainbow nets, multi‑level soft play structures, and interactive elements are connected into a continuous play route.

Soft colors, clear sightlines, and simple circulation create a safe and comfortable environment. Children can explore freely, while parents can supervise easily without constant close monitoring.

This design helps expand age coverage while keeping daily operation simple and efficient.

Creating Long‑Term Value Through Smart Planning

Through dual‑zone planning, vertical space design, and interactive play systems, Funlandia helped Chongqing Jihua Park create an indoor playground that is easier to manage, more efficient to operate, and enjoyable for a wide range of visitors.

Looking ahead, Funlandia will continue to develop indoor entertainment destinations around the world that combine strong design, practical operation, and long‑term value.
