Located in Auckland, New Zealand, Game Over is one of the city’s major indoor entertainment venues, known for go-karts, bowling, mini golf, arcade games, and group entertainment experiences.
To broaden its family offering, Game Over wanted to add a new play concept for children and families. The goal was not to create a small kids’ corner, but to introduce a more active, flexible, and engaging indoor adventure space that could work alongside the venue’s existing attractions.
That idea became Ninja City — a 2,000㎡+ indoor ninja-themed adventure park developed with Funlandia.
Game Over already had a strong mix of entertainment options for teenagers, adults, groups, and families. Ninja City adds a different type of experience to the venue: one built around movement, challenge, and active play.
Children can climb, jump, balance, slide, and explore, while parents can take part or stay close in a family-friendly environment. This makes Ninja City a natural extension of Game Over’s existing entertainment model, helping the venue offer a more complete indoor experience for families.
Instead of using a traditional cartoon-style playground design, Ninja City takes on a more energetic and sporty visual direction.
The space combines bold purple, blue, pink, and black tones with neon lines, ninja graphics, branded elements, and clear wayfinding. The result is a bright and dynamic environment that feels like a city of challenges.
From the entrance to the wall graphics, floor patterns, and equipment finishes, the theme runs consistently through the space. Children can quickly understand the setting: this is a place to move, explore, and complete challenges.
Ninja City brings together several types of indoor adventure activities within one space.
Together, these areas create a park that works for different age groups, from younger children to older kids and teenagers.
For a project of this size, the challenge was not simply filling the space with equipment. The key was to make the space work as a complete experience.
Funlandia supported the project through overall space planning, attraction design, theme development, equipment manufacturing, and project delivery. The layout was planned around visitor flow, age differences, activity levels, and the needs of daily operation.
The aim was to create a park that looks strong, plays well, and fits naturally into Game Over’s larger entertainment environment.
With Ninja City, Game Over now has a stronger family-focused attraction within its venue.
The new adventure park complements the existing go-karts, bowling, mini golf, and arcade games, while giving children and families a reason to stay longer and return more often.
It also creates more opportunities for birthday parties, school groups, family visits, and group events.
For Funlandia, Ninja City is an important project in the Oceania market and reflects the company’s ability to deliver customized indoor play solutions for international venues.
Ninja City is more than an indoor playground. It is a new adventure space designed to fit into an existing entertainment venue and expand its family appeal.
