The Magic Starts Here: How Funlandia Turned a Circus Story into a Real Playland
Funlandia partnered with Cartoony, one of China’s leading indoor play center chains, to launch a flagship destination: CIRCUS Magic Adventure. Spanning over 3,000 square meters in the heart of Shanghai, this project is more than just a playground—it is a fully immersive world where storytelling, creative play, and family interaction meet.
As a long-term partner of Cartoony, Funlandia provided a complete Turnkey Play Solution, including Spatial Planning, theme development, and equipment manufacturing. Our goal was to create a new landmark for Shanghai families that combines the wonder of a fairy tale with the thrill of physical adventure.
The CIRCUS Magic Adventure is built around the “Starlight Circus” storyline. The Funlandia Design team took inspiration from the classic fantasy atmosphere of traditional circuses and modernized it. We integrated Animatronics, interactive lighting, and themed decorative installations into every corner of the park.
From the moment guests step through the doors, they are no longer just visitors—they become “New Circus Members.” Every play zone is a chapter in their story, filled with laughter, challenges, and surprises.
Physical activity alone no longer drives repeat visits. Without goals, progression, or competition, engagement drops quickly.

We used Spatial Planning to guide the guest journey. Every role, scene, and lighting effect was carefully placed to ensure that as soon as families enter, they feel “transported” onto a vivid, magical stage.
